Zeus and his brothers divided up the world, Zeus ruling the sky, Poseidon the sea, and Hades the underworld. As king of the gods, Zeus was determined not to fall victim to the same cycle of deities who had been overthrown by their children. Years would pass. Zeus philanders about, siring innumerable bastard children, one of them, a Spartan named Kratos.
